"Oktoberfest's roots can be traced back to 1810 in Munich, which is in the Bavarian region of Germany. On October 12th of that year, the future King Ludwig got married and invited the entire city to attend the celebration, which included a large feast and horse races."
A true-blue Bavarian and veteran Oktoberfest reveller, our old ally Felix identifies the crucial character of this quintessential German celebration as "a good party that you go to with your mates."
Work mates, club mates, college mates, family mates – gather them up and bring them along. Join us to celebrate this great German tradition for the first time in Kinnegar style.
Look forward to Leaf Kicker, our seasonal special Märzen, the original Oktoberfest lager. We also have another German classic in the tank and it will take a bow for the big occasion.
We'll be keeping it simple. Expect sausages and pretzels alongside your beer. The beer garden furniture will be set up in K3 so you'll have a roof over your heads and plenty of space to get together. After that it's up to you!
The celebrations will kick off at 4PM on Friday, with the main revelling scheduled for Saturday from 1PM. We're lining up some live music from mid-afternoon and the final live music act will take the floor at 6.30PM.
Admission is free.
