Farmhouse beers from Donegal

The Limeburner Rock is mysteriously sinking!

Many people have asked us the source of the name for our Limeburner Pale Ale. Those familiar with the waters off Donegal’s north coast will know it comes from the Limeburner Rock, a sea pinnacle hidden 2m beneath the surface of the water a few miles from Fanad Head. Or so we thought…

Local sailing instructor, naturalist and Taproom beer guru, Aengus Kennedy, just informed us that the Limeburner isn’t where we thought it was. A recent seabed survey has revised her depth from 2 to 3.5m below the surface of the water! Is the Limeburner sinking? Water levels rising? Or perhaps more accurate charting explains the mystery? Well, that’s one to ponder over a beer!
